Release Date for the 2018 F-150
Automakers from all over the world converge annually at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit to show off their latest innovations. Ford Motor Company is always a must-see event in Detroit. The manufacturer used their time in the limelight to show off a number of changes coming to next year’s version of the Ford F-150. When the release date for the 2018 Ford F-150 arrives at O.C. Welch Ford Lincoln, buyers will be getting a tougher, smarter and more capable model of the best-selling full-size pickup in the United States.
“Truck customers are constantly looking to improve their productivity, for work and for play,” Joe Hinrichs, Ford President, The Americas said in a press release. “Since 1977, we’ve been America’s favorite truck, and we’ve never taken that leadership for granted. This new F-150 is our latest example of Ford’s commitment to going further for our customers through continuous innovation.”
How is the 2018 F-150 different from the 2017?
Customers visiting the O.C. Welch Ford showroom on or after the release date for the 2018 Ford F-150 will notice a number of aesthetic upgrades made across the respected lineup. From the base XL F-150 all the way up to the top-of-the-line Limited trim, each new Ford pickup truck will feature revised grilles, new headlight designs and bumpers. The end result is that the 2018 F-150 will have a visually more aggressive stance on the road.
The 2018 Ford F-150 will also be debuting a brand new engine for the next model year. The new standard engine option for entry level models of the 2018 F-150 is a 3.3-liter, V-6 engine. Engineers are working out the final bugs before the new engine goes into production; however, early estimates place the power output at the same 282 horsepower that was available in the 3.5-liter, V-6. Owners are also expected to see a marked improvement in fuel economy scores with the new power plant.
