Release Date for the 2018 Ford EcoSport
Ford Motor Company makes some of the largest and most capable vehicles in the world. However, tens of thousands of pounds of towing capacity or being able to create enough horsepower to put a vehicle into orbit isn’t always the answer. When the release date of the 2018 Ford EcoSport is available for O.C. Welch Ford Lincoln in about a year or so, a new world of fuel efficient travel and technology will be on display. While the EcoSport is new to American buyers, Ford has been selling the subcompact crossover SUV in Asian markets for a while, to great success.
“More people are choosing to spend their time and money sharing experiences with friends and family instead of buying more stuff,” Chantel Lenard, executive director, Ford U.S. marketing said in press release. “EcoSport fits perfectly into this growing lifestyle. It’s our smallest SUV, packed with features and personality.”
What is the Ford EcoSport?
The body of the 2018 Ford EcoSport is designed to split the difference between small crossover SUV and a compact sedan. Drivers will have the SUV advantages of being able to sit a bit higher on the road while also having a bit more interior space to work with. That body is built on the same or similar frame as popular Ford sedans. This makes the EcoSport easy to maneuver if not fun to drive.
Features of the Ford EcoSport
What the 2018 Ford EcoSport may lack in bulk, it more than makes up for with an incredible list of accessories. All of the latest Ford technology will be installed in the new subcompact SUV. Sync 3, Ford Pass and the ability to pair smartphone apps from Apple and Android phones to the infotainment system will be standard equipment on most of the vehicle’s four trim grades. From a practicality standpoint, the 2018 EcoSport packs its entire cabin with about 30 different kinds of small storage options like pockets, bins and cargo hooks.
Powering the new 2018 Ford EcoSport will be either a turbocharged, 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine or a more robust 2.0-liter, four-cylinder model. Both engines use a six-speed automatic transmission.
