2018 Mustang track mode exhaust note ringtone
Within the automotive world, there might not be a more iconic sound than that of a V-8-powered Ford Mustang. This is especially true of the new and improved 2018 Ford Mustang coming soon to the O.C. Welch Ford Lincoln showroom. Ahead of the car arriving to dealerships, Ford has released a 2018 Mustang track mode exhaust note ringtone. Now, whenever someone calls, you will be treated to the roar of the pony car’s V-8 engine hitting the upper range of its RPM. The sound was recorded to demonstrate the car’s all-new active valve performance exhaust system.
“We created this system to provide customers with a sound experience that best complements the exhilaration of driving the Mustang,” Carl Widmann, Mustang chief engineer said in a press release. “The total excitement is something you don’t just feel, you hear.”
What is Active Valve Performance Exhaust?
2018 Ford Mustang GT models featuring the improved V-8 engine will have the Active Valve Performance Exhaust system. The goal of this system is to give drivers greater control over how their car sounds when coming down the road. Upon ignition, the exhaust system will start in default to normal mode. Even at this point, Mustang drivers can dial in the rumbling idle sounds of the car’s powerful engine to a level they see fit.
Steering wheel-mounted controls allow a driver to move through the menus while customizing the audible signature of their 2018 Mustang GT. The necessary information is displayed in the car’s newly redesigned driver information center. Just as important to how the 2018 Mustang sounds is the car’s muffler, which is larger and features returned resonators.
