New Ford F-150 Diesel Engine Towing and Fuel Economy Ratings
The 2018 F-150 will offer Ford’s all-new 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V-6. This engine will produce an impressive 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be paired with Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission. These performance numbers lead to a maximum towing rating of 11,400 pounds. The maximum payload for the diesel truck will check in at 2,020 pounds.
Fuel economy ratings are an important factor for truck shoppers considering a diesel engine. Ford is targeting estimated fuel economy ratings of up to 30 miles per gallon on the highways.
