Driving the hauling capabilities of the 2018 Expedition is the SUV’s standard 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine. The latest version of this engine will produce 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy numbers for the engine are estimated at up to 17 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highways for 20 miles per gallon combined.
The performance numbers of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 lead to a maximum towing rating of 9,300 pounds, when equipped with the available Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package.
Expedition Interior Volume
With all of the seats in place, the 2018 Expedition offers 20.9 cubic feet of storage space. Folding down the third row of seats increases this number to 63.6 cubic feet of storage space. With all three rows of seats folded down, the standard Expedition offers a maximum storage capacity of 104.6 cubic feet. The longer Expedition MAX model adds about a foot of length to the SUV. The added length increases the maximum storage capacity to 121.5 cubic feet.
